The Town Turns It Up: Summer Walker, Don Toliver & a Loaded 510 Weekend

Arena R&B, lakeside hip-hop, Ballers baseball and Whose Line legends — the East Bay is stacked June 26–28.

The Town Turns It Up: Summer Walker, Don Toliver & a Loaded 510 Weekend

The 510 is running every lane this weekend. Two arena shows back-to-back at Oakland Arena, a free all-day blowout on the shores of Lake Merritt, fan-owned baseball in West Oakland, and a pair of Whose Line legends taking your suggestions in Walnut Creek. From The Town to the 925, here’s how to move June 26–28.

🎭 Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: Asking for Trouble

Friday, Jun 26 @ 7:30 PM

The two fastest wits from ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ bring their ‘Asking for Trouble’ improv show to the intimate Hofmann Theatre at Lesher Center for the Arts, and yes — they’re taking your suggestions. Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood have spent decades turning random audience shout-outs into laugh-until-you-cry chaos, and no two nights are ever the same. Expect on-the-spot scenes, sketchy games, and at least one bit where things go gloriously off the rails. Doors open at 6:30 PM. It’s a downtown Walnut Creek date-night winner that doesn’t require a single screen.

The Move: The Hofmann is a five-minute stroll from Hotboys Walnut Creek at 1394 N Main St — fuel up before the 6:30 doors so you’re ready to heckle on a full stomach.

⚾ Oakland Ballers vs. Yuba-Sutter Freebirds — Phish Night

Friday, Jun 26 @ 6:35 PM

The B’s are back at intimate Raimondi Park in West Oakland for a Pioneer League tilt against the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds, and this one comes with a jammy twist — it’s ‘Possum! (Phish Night).’ The Oakland Ballers have become the feel-good story of The Town, a fan-owned club playing pro ball just blocks from downtown, and there’s no closer seat to the action in the Bay. Bring your tie-dye, grab a beer, and soak up a summer evening of community baseball. It’s affordable, it’s loud, and it’s pure Oakland.

The Move: Raimondi Park is a quick hop from Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave — swing by before first pitch to load up for a night in the bleachers.

🎉 7th Annual LakeFest Oakland

Saturday, Jun 27 @ 11:00 AM

LakeFest returns to the shores of Lake Merritt for its 7th year, drawing tens of thousands of neighbors for a free, all-day celebration of music, art and the vibrant spirit of The Town. Set against Oakland’s glittering jewel of a lake, the festival packs in live performances, local vendors, DJs and hip-hop, plus food and culture from every corner of the 510. Running 11 AM – 7 PM at the Lake Merritt Boathouse (Sailboat House), it’s the kind of sun-soaked block party that defines an East Bay summer. Roll through, post up by the water, and run into half the city.

The Move: Lake Merritt is just up the way from Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave — grab takeout on your walk over and claim your spot on the grass before the crowds roll in.

🎤 Don Toliver: Octane Tour

Saturday, Jun 27 @ 7:30 PM

Houston’s psychedelic rap-and-R&B star Don Toliver brings the Octane Tour to Oakland Arena in support of his fifth studio album, and he’s not rolling solo — SahBabii, SoFaygo and Cactus Jack’s own Chase B round out a stacked bill. Expect the hazy, melodic hits and the kind of high-octane production that turns an arena into a full-body experience. This is one of the biggest hip-hop nights of the East Bay summer. Doors are at 6:30, so get there early to catch the openers.

The Move: Heading to the Arena from the north? Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave is the move for a pre-show meal before you fight the Coliseum-area traffic.

🎶 Summer Walker: Still Finally Over It Tour

Sunday, Jun 28 @ 7:30 PM

R&B’s reigning queen of the slow-burn heartbreak anthem, Summer Walker, brings her first-ever headlining arena run to Oakland Arena for the Still Finally Over It Tour — the emotional finale to her acclaimed ‘Over It’ trilogy. Celebrating her chart-topping album, the show promises the kind of intimate, candle-lit confessionals and sing-every-word moments her fans live for. Doors are at 6:30 PM. It’s a Sunday-night reset wrapped in pristine vocals and heavy feelings. Bring someone you love, or someone you’re trying to get over.

The Move: Make a night of it with a stop at Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave before the show — it’s open Sunday until 10pm, perfect timing for a pre-concert bite.
