Naptown Lights Up: Fireworks, Symphonies & Stars for America's 250th
The Circle City throws a semiquincentennial blowout — orchestras under the stars, downtown fireworks, and a poet of Punjab on stage.
The 317 doesn’t do the Fourth halfway, and for America’s 250th it’s pulling out every stop. The Circle City stacks its holiday weekend with orchestras and fireworks out on the Conner Prairie lawn, a downtown street festival that booms over the American Legion Mall, a suburban blowout with drones in Westfield, plus a Punjabi superstar and a national stand-up to round it out. From Fountain Square to Fishers, here’s how Naptown lights up.
🎆 Star-Spangled Symphony — Kroger Symphony on the Prairie
Friday, Jul 3 @ 8:00 PM (gates open 6:00 PM)
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra hauls its full firepower out to the rolling lawn of Conner Prairie Amphitheatre for the Circle City’s most beloved summer tradition — and this year it’s cranked up to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Expect a program stuffed with patriotic favorites, the Indianapolis Opera Chorus lending their pipes, and a dazzling fireworks display lighting up the Fishers sky as the finale. Pack a blanket, a picnic, and a bottle of wine, sprawl out under the stars, and let the brass section do the heavy lifting. The show runs both Friday and Saturday night, so there’s no excuse to miss it — gates swing open at 6 p.m. for prime lawn real estate. All ages. Fri Jul 3 & Sat Jul 4 @ 8:00 PM.
The Move: Conner Prairie sits a quick hop from our North Indy shop at 4335 W 106th St, Carmel — swing by Hotboys North Indy before the lawn fills up and grab a sack of Hotboys to smuggle into your picnic blanket. Symphony hits harder with hot chicken in hand.

🎤 Satinder Sartaaj Live
Friday, Jul 3 @ 7:00 PM
Punjabi superstar Satinder Sartaaj — poet, Sufi singer, and screen actor — brings his soaring, soul-stirring vocals to the historic Murat Theatre at Old National Centre on the kickoff night of the holiday weekend. Known for blending classical Punjabi poetry with lush, cinematic arrangements, Sartaaj draws devoted crowds wherever he tours, and the ornate, Moorish-domed Murat is the perfect jewel-box setting for an intimate evening of his work. Doors lead into one of Indy’s most beautiful rooms, so come early to soak in the architecture. Tickets are moving across Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and Vivid Seats — grab yours before the floor fills. All ages.
The Move: The Murat is minutes from our Indianapolis shop at 1004 Virginia Avenue in Fountain Square. Fuel up at Hotboys Indianapolis before the show — Sufi poetry hits different on a full stomach.

🎇 Downtown Indy Fourth Fest
Saturday, Jul 4 @ 6:00 PM (fireworks countdown begins 10:00 PM)
Downtown’s signature Independence Day blowout returns for its fourth year, turning the American Legion Mall into a sprawling street festival from 6 p.m. onward. Food trucks, ice cream stands, and cold drinks line the mall while a Kids Zone keeps the little ones busy on Meridian Street. Eight-piece pop, R&B and dance powerhouse Living Proof headlines the stage alongside Latin-and-salsa-flavored Grupo Bembé, building toward a 20-minute fireworks spectacular launched from the 500 N Meridian building at 10:15 p.m. (countdown and preshow begin at 10). Best views are from the Indiana War Memorial grounds and American Legion Mall — it’s free, it’s loud, and it’s the heart of Naptown’s Fourth. All ages.
The Move: Before you stake out a fireworks spot downtown, roll through our Hotboys Indianapolis location at 1004 Virginia Avenue and load up — a box of Hotboys beats anything you’ll fight the food-truck lines for on the Mall.

🥁 Westfield Rocks the 4th
Saturday, Jul 4 @ 4:00 PM (fireworks & drone show 10:00 PM)
Hamilton County’s biggest Independence Day party takes over Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield with a full afternoon-to-night lineup. The main stage rolls with party-rock band The Flying Toasters from 5–7 p.m. and ’80s tribute act The 1985 from 8–10 p.m., while the Kids Zone runs music from Mik the Music Man, a dance showcase, and a magic show. Don’t miss the dead-serious Frank’s Franks Hot Dog Eating Contest at 7:15 and the kids’ watermelon-eating showdown earlier in the evening. The whole thing caps off at 10 p.m. with a combined fireworks-and-drone-show grand finale — a genuinely modern twist on the classic boom. All ages.
The Move: Grand Park is right in our North Indy backyard — stop by Hotboys North Indy at 4335 W 106th St SUITE 1300 on the way and bring Hotboys to the lawn. Way better than waiting in line for the hot dog contest leftovers.
