Iggy Pop, Panic at the Fox & Cricket at the Coliseum: The Town Goes Off
Mosswood Meltdown takes over Oakland while Widespread Panic, the MLC Final, and Ballers baseball stack the 510's biggest weekend of the summer
The Town is absolutely stacked July 17–19. John Waters and Iggy Pop turn Mosswood Park into punk paradise, Widespread Panic camps out at the Fox for three nights, and the Coliseum hosts the biggest cricket match the Bay has ever seen. Add Ballers baseball in West Oakland and Broadway in Walnut Creek, and the 510 is running the best weekend of the summer.
🎸 Mosswood Meltdown 2026 with Iggy Pop & Bikini Kill
Saturday–Sunday, Jul 18–19 @ 11:00 AM
Oakland’s legendarily weird punk-and-garage festival is back at Mosswood Park, hosted once again by the one and only John Waters — who bills it as “the Warped Woodstock.” Saturday brings punk godfather Iggy Pop to the headline slot alongside Otoboke Beaver, Mannequin Pussy, The Spits, and The Dirtbombs, while Sunday belongs to riot grrrl icons Bikini Kill, plus Fred Armisen with Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein playing Ramones covers as The Return of Jackie & Judy, and The Dead Milkmen. There’s even a Friday pre-party featuring Pavement, Wednesday, and Vivian Girls to kick the whole thing off. Check the full lineup, then expect vintage vendors, wild outfits, and the most gloriously unhinged crowd in the East Bay.
The Move: Mosswood Park is a quick shot down Broadway from Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave — load up before the gates or refuel after Iggy melts your face off. Festival days are long; come prepared.

🎤 Widespread Panic — Night 2 of 3
Friday, Jul 17 @ 8:00 PM
Southern jam-rock institution Widespread Panic sets up shop at Uptown Oakland’s gorgeous Fox Theater for a three-night residency, July 16–18, and Friday is the sweet spot of the run. No two Panic setlists are ever the same, so the faithful are hitting all three nights — but even a single show in the Fox’s ornate, Moorish-revival room is a bucket-list experience. Doors at 7, music at 8, and single-night tickets started as low as $55. The Telegraph Avenue corridor around the venue will be buzzing all weekend.
The Move: The Fox is barely a five-minute roll from Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave — swing through before doors and walk into the show already glowing.
🏏 Major League Cricket Championship Final
Saturday, Jul 18 @ 4:30 PM
The Town caps off its summer as host of Major League Cricket’s Season 4 Championship Final at the Oakland Coliseum. The Coliseum has been transformed into a roughly 12,000-capacity cricket cauldron for the playoffs, and Saturday’s winner-take-all final is the biggest cricket match ever played in the Bay Area. T20 cricket is fast, loud, and built for first-timers — three hours of sixes, wickets, and full-throated fan sections. Tickets started around $22 through MLC, and the venue is an easy BART ride to Coliseum station.
The Move: Grab your pre-match spread at Hotboys Oakland on San Pablo Ave, then hop BART straight to Coliseum station — way better than stadium concession lines during a three-hour final.

⚾ Oakland Ballers vs. Modesto Roadsters — World Cup Night
Friday, Jul 17 @ 6:35 PM
Oakland’s beloved community-owned ballclub hosts the Modesto Roadsters for a full weekend series at West Oakland’s Raimondi Park, and Friday is World Cup Night — expect flags, fútbol energy, and the B’s usual scrappy-underdog charm. If Friday doesn’t work, Saturday’s 4:35 game is “Ballermania” and Sunday’s 1:05 matinee is the delightfully named “K-Pop Demon Bunters” night. Raimondi is small, loud, and personal in a way big-league parks can’t touch — the Oakland Ballers are the purest baseball experience in the Bay right now, and it’s genuinely family-friendly.
The Move: Raimondi Park sits in West Oakland just minutes from Hotboys Oakland at 1601 San Pablo Ave — the ultimate pregame move before first pitch.

🎭 Celebrate Broadway — Summer Performing Arts Conservatory Showcase
Saturday, Jul 18 @ 2:00 PM
Walnut Creek’s Lesher Center caps its Summer Performing Arts Conservatory with “Celebrate Broadway,” a musical theatre showcase packed with show-stopping numbers from the Great White Way performed by the conservatory’s rising young talent. There are two chances to catch it — Friday evening at 7 or the Saturday 2 PM matinee in the intimate Margaret Lesher Theatre. It’s a feel-good, family-friendly afternoon of big Broadway energy in downtown Walnut Creek, and seats in the smaller theatre go fast, so don’t sleep on tickets.
The Move: The Lesher Center is a short stroll from Hotboys Walnut Creek at 1394 N Main St — make it a matinee-and-meal Saturday in downtown WC.
